About the School
Education in Bohermeen dates back to the early 19th century, with the first formal school opening in 1834 and classes originally held in parish buildings. The present St. Ultan’s National School was built in 1938 under the direction of Fr. O’Keefe and has been extended several times since, most recently in 2015, to meet the needs of a growing school community.Today, the school serves approximately 240 pupils, supported by a dedicated team of teachers and support staff. St. Ultan’s has a strong tradition in academic excellence, music, sport, wellbeing, and environmental awareness, alongside a long-standing commitment to Catholic education and parish life.
