St. Ultan’s Church, Bohermeen

St. Ultan’s Church was originally built in 1817, in the period just before Catholic Emancipation, as the principal Roman Catholic church for the growing Bohermeen community.Over the years the church has been carefully maintained and adapted to meet the needs of parish life. It underwent significant renovations, including roof updates in the late 19th century and architectural modifications in the 1980s.Named after St. Ultan, a revered early Irish saint known for his care of children and teaching, the church reflects Demo Parish’s long Catholic tradition in this part of Meath.
